Jonah 1:2 ESV states, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it, for their evil has come up before me.”
May God raise voices to speak out against the injustices committed not only by agencies, bureaus, and employers but also by maids and nannies within the domestic work industry. Their actions, whether harmful or unjust, have also reached the Lord’s ears. Just as God called Jonah to confront a whole city, we are also called to address the wrongdoings we witness in our homes and communities.
Whether it’s exploitation, mistreatment, or untrustworthy behaviour, God sees all that transpires in our homes. He is not pleased with any form of injustice, regardless of its source. It is time to confront the realities of the domestic work industry, recognising that both employers and workers have a responsibility to act with integrity and respect.
Let us advocate for justice, dignity, and accountability in how everyone is treated, fostering an environment of mutual respect and care.
