Hebrews 9:14 NIrV
[14] But Christ offered himself to God without any flaw. He did this through the power of the eternal Holy Spirit. So how much cleaner will the blood of Christ make us! It washes away our feelings of guilt for committing sin. Sin always leads to death. But now we can serve the living God.
Hebrews 9:14 has truly ministered to me this evening, and I feel compelled to share how deeply it has impacted my heart. To think that the blood of Jesus makes us completely clean is both humbling and awe-inspiring. For a long time, I saw myself as carrying the stain of being a single mother. I used to feel as though I had sinned by having a child before marriage and, because of that, deemed myself unworthy of any good thing in life.
But this verse, especially in this version, has reminded me of the truth: the blood of Jesus cleanses me completely. It is as though I never committed any sin at all. It’s not just that my sin is forgiven—this Scripture tells us that the blood of Jesus even washes away the feelings of guilt for committing sin. Do you realize how profound that is? It doesn’t just remove the sin but also the shame and guilt that weigh so heavily on our hearts.
I have carried around shame and guilt for so long, but this word assures me that the blood of Jesus has made me new, whole, and free. I am no longer defined by my past mistakes. I am as though I never sinned. Isn’t that beautiful? Another translation says that we are made pure so that we can now serve the living God. The blood of Jesus makes us pure – astounding.
The Bible has this incredible ability to address the deepest questions of our hearts and bring peace to the areas where we didn’t even realize we needed healing. If you are like me and have been beating yourself up over past sins, let this verse remind you that the blood of Jesus has taken care of all of that. To Him, you are as though you never committed any sin in your past.
Come boldly to the throne of God. He will not turn you away. Remember the analogy I once shared from our pastor: God looks at us through the lens of the blood of Jesus. Through that lens, He sees us as His children—whole, forgiven, and redeemed.
Let us give glory to God, for He is good, and His mercies endure forever. Truly, the blood of Jesus is enough.
Have a beautiful night. 🖤
